What Are Power Drivers?

Power Drivers are the power and control center of your Lo-Vo system. (See, what is Lo-Vo).

Lo-Vo fixtures are DMX controllable, low-voltage luminaires that allow you the freedom to illuminate your venue. We currently offer four Power Driver models.

How to put the unit in DMX Mode after it’s been in User Mode

For DMX control after the unit has been in User or Color Macro mode, go to the DMX address window in the menu, hit enter (brackets will appear around the number), and then hit menu (brackets will disappear). This process will put the unit back into DMX mode.

Differences To Note

• The DMX150 is the only Power Driver with a built-in master dimmer.
• All Power Drivers ending with an E are ETL certified.
• The DMX1202XE is the only rack mountable Power Driver.
• The DMX1802XE does not come with a plug. It gives you the option to hardwire the unit if desired. (View manual for more info.)
• The DMX602XE & DMX1202XE can easily plug into a standard wall outlet with the included cable. (Be sure the power outlet matches the required voltage for your unit.)

Zone Options

Lo-Vo Power Drivers connect to Lo-Vo fixtures using 150W ports, with 120W recommended per port. In DMX mode, fixtures are grouped into zones. All lights within the same zone are controlled together for dimming and color selection. Different Power Drivers offer different zone options, giving you flexibility in how the ports are grouped.

The DMX1802XE offers five zone options:

1 Zone: All ports are controlled together.
2 Zones: 6 ports per zone.
3 Zones: 4 ports per zone.
6 Zones: 2 ports per zone.
12 Zones: Each port is controlled individually.

The DMX1202XE offers four zone options:

1 Zone: All ports are controlled together.
2 Zones: 4 ports per zone.
4 Zones: 2 ports per zone.
8 Zones: Each port is controlled individually.

The DMX602XE offers three zone options:

1 Zone: All ports are controlled together.
2 Zones: 2 ports per zone.
4 Zones: Each port is controlled individually.

The DMX150 offers one zone option:

1 Zone: All three ports are controlled together.

Important Considerations

• Always match the output mode to the fixture type. Use RGBW Mode for RGBWW Lo-Vo fixtures and White Mode for Warm White fixtures.

• For brighter color output, go to User Color and create a custom color. This allows you to set the color channels to full brightness instead of relying on the built-in color macros.
