When To Use An Ellipsoidal

Springtree Ellipsoidal

Ellipsoidal fixtures (also called Lekos or Profile spots) are essential when you need bright, crisp, shapeable light with minimal spill. Their framing shutters and adjustable lenses let you keep light off unwanted stage elements, like projection screens, while precisely focusing your beam.

If you want a softer, wide wash, then fresnels or pars are a better option.

Spartan300 VW LED Fresnel

Bought 10 of them. Only needed 6. An amazing fixture. Even all the way out at 50 degrees it still has great brightness and you can dial in the color temp to match your other fixtures or start out with a warm stage preservice and raise the color temp for opening. So many options. A great addition to the lineup.

Silent Par 1210

We have 8 of these and they more than wash our entire 40ft wide by 15ft deep stage. We also bought two of these to put on either side of the stage as side fill lights and they look incredible! Super bright and the dimming curve is as close as you’ll get to a true theatrical fixture at this price point. This is easily one of my favorite LED lights of all time!

Spatial Wash COB RGBWW

Spatial Wash COBs are the perfect fixture for when you have a limited budget… Because of their wide beam angle, I was able to brilliantly light up my space with just a few of these fixtures, and I had money left over to buy myself one of their DMX Wall Stations to use with my lights. Great Value, would highly recommend!

Silent Par 1210

Just bought two of these to start replacing some old Chauvet SlimPAR Pro RGBA fixtures. For the price the Springtree Silent Par CANNOT be beat! They are much brighter than the old SlimPar Pros and have color mixing is great for any church, school or other venue where budget is an issue. I plan on buying 6 to 8 more in the very near future!
