Introducing QSC’s K.2 Series

Exciting news for all the QSC fans out there, the new K.2 Series of powered loudspeakers is officially here! And it is jam packed with more features!

At the heart of QSC’s K.2 Series are some very powerful components. A 2000-watt power module, high-performance woofers, compression drivers, and advanced on-board DSP. These components were designed to work seamlessly together to create a great sound that has a smooth, even coverage across the entire listening area. They are designed to be interchangeable as your Main PA or as Floor Monitors. They offer ease of installation/set up, being able can be flown, wall- or truss-mounted or placed on a speaker pole.

What’s New? (differences between K.2 and original K series)

  • Its inbuilt amp has twice the peak power of the original
  • The K.2 has more powerful DSP, and now includes user-adjustable crossover, delay & EQ
  • A new LCD display looks great and makes for easy control
  • It now has a HI-Z (high impedance) inputs for passive instruments
  • Has a cloth lined grill for improved aesthetic
  • It has a 3.5mm (1/8”) mini-jack input independent gain controls for each of the three (3) inputs
  • And a shallower monitor angle (55 degrees) on all models.

So Our Personal Take on the New System

At Springtree we have a tendency to go with classic JBL speakers and Shure microphones for achieving that great sound. With that said, the original K Series sounds amazing, has a fair price, and is easy to set up. When it comes to a powered speaker system, the K Series was hard to beat, and the K.2 builds upon that with even more powerful components! While we haven’t had a lot of time to test their new system, QSC means quality!

Like its predecessor, we would recommend this system for mobile functions. It is perfect for churches that don’t have their own facility and have to set up each Sunday. Likewise, it would be great for bands and school assemblies. The cool thing is you can go full QSC, using their powerful TouchMix digital mixers, their K12.2s for mains, and the smaller K8.2s for monitors.
